10th Annual Pasta for Paws Fundraiser

We expect over 500 guests from our community to attend Pasta for Paws who are dedicated supporters of animal rescue and adoption.

It is time for the 10th Annual Pasta for Paws Fundraiser for the Nassau County Humane Society!

“Pasta for Paws” is a great way for our community to come together and have delicious food, lots of fun and help raise funds for our furry friends in our shelter.

Our fundraiser will be on Saturday, September 20, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the Atlantic Avenue Recreational Center.

We expect over 500 guests from our community to attend our event, who are dedicated supporters of animal rescue and adoption.

This year we have a few surprises with Chef David, from Osprey Village, as our “Special Guest Chef” and Early McCall playing his Margaretville style music throughout the evening, along with our very popular huge silent auction. Some featured items will be a football autographed by FSU coaching legend Bobby Bowden, an original Jacksonville Jaguars leather jacket, and Gator Bowl tickets.

Osprey Village is the major sponsor for the event, and Harris Teeter donated the ground beef for the meatballs. NHS events/volunteer coordinator Kelly Monti thanked all of the sponsors “and all the volunteers who have helped with organizing the event, from decorations, baking desserts, making all the sauce, making over 1,600 meatballs, and over 50 volunteers who will be helping the day of the event.

Without the dedication and support from our wonderful volunteers, we would not be able to have such successful events to help raise funds for our furry friends in our shelter. And a thank you to all the local businesses who have donated items for our silent auction.”

The annual event always features great food and is one of the most important fundraisers for the Nassau Humane Society. This year’s dinner will feature spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, beverage and dessert for $14. It’s free for children age 6 and younger and $10 for kids age 7-10.

The event always features a wide variety of homemade desserts to choose from, with extra desserts for only $2 each. Take-out will be available. Tickets are available at the NHS Second Chance resale store, 1002 S. 14th St., the NHS Dog Park, 641 Airport Road, and online at NassauHumaneSociety.com.
