Coffee Cooler or On the Rocks?

1 Cup strong brewed coffee
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
¬Ω Cup reduced fat vanilla yogurt
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 ¬Ω Cups ice

Mix coffee, vanilla, yogurt and sugar in a blender until smooth.
Add ice and mix until well blended and serve right away.

BONUS TIP: Coffee on the Rocks
For those of you who drink your coffee “on the rocks”, try freezing leftover coffee in ice cube trays and keep the frozen nuggets of “Joe” in a large baggie in the freezer. When you are ready to enjoy your chilled cup of coffee use the coffee ice cubes and your drink will no longer become watered down.

Did you know?

The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

Thanksgiving Poetry

May your stuffing be tasty
and your turkey plump.
May your potatoes and gravy
have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Blistur Returns to Nassau County

Blistur returns to Amelia Island

The Jacksonville rock band, Blistur, is returning to Nassau County for a Thanksgiving treat on Sunday afternoon, November 30 at Wicked Davey’s Fancy Saloon. This intimate venue is located at 232 North Second Street in Fernandina Beach.

(For those who may not know where it is, just hang a right at the Palace towards the port in downtown Fernandina.) The show starts at 3:00 pm and this is a great way to give “Thanks” for surviving an extended weekend with the relatives!
