Free Willy is the featured movie for this month’s Family Swim-in at the Atlantic Rec Center pool. On July 17, 2009, bring the family to the Atlantic Recreation Center Pool at 9:00pm and enjoy some great family quality bonding time and fun while you swim-in and watch “Free Willy”.

Admission is only $5.00 and the Recreation Center is located at 2500 Atlantic Avenue. The event ends at 11:00 pm, call 904-277-7350 for more information.

Another great city pool facility is The MLK, Jr. Center. This location offers such programs as after school tutoring, summer learning center, summer food service, bingo, open card night, horseshoe tournaments, a co-ed exercise class and many other programs. They also have an auditorium, full kitchen, swimming pool, kid’s activity pool, a playground, baseball playing and practice field and a lighted outdoor basketball court.

So when the kids start saying they are bored this summer, there are plenty of things available in Fernandina Beach for our youth to stay active and out of trouble until school starts in August.
