  • What does 1.5 Billion and Apple have in common? Apple TV. There's the "toy" everyone is laughing about that Apple keeps in their selling line-up for "fun.....".

You think? Well let's open some of those narrow minded idiots' (Hey i'm just quoting the author) eyes. It all started with iTunes while the music industry was battling a war against Piracy, Apple took the bulls by the horns and now is the biggest music retailer in the world. Then came the iPhone onto the scene. The concept was mind boggling and 5 years ahead of any competition, but that was not the amazing part. What really was is when iPhone 2 was launched the Appstore magically appeared on the scene as well. Let's have a look... on June 11, 2008 the Appstore (application store for the iPhone was launched) providing software developers not only a gateway to market and sell their wares, but propelled the Appstore within one year (june 11, 2009) to the most successful implementation of online shopping in ONE niche market. A whopping 1,500,000,000 Apps where distributed via the app store for a relative small niche smart phone market that has not seen its real hayday.

Now there is this little gadget called AppleTV (some called it iTV) and yes it allows you to leave the laptop out of the bedroom, and yes it is fully integrated with iTunes, iPhone and its little remote control...

America's most innovative company is sitting on the media goldmine, and Apple knows it, and when the old timer media moguls profess that Cable and Satellite will never go down in flames against Internet TV, Internet video is sneaking into the bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms like a gnome in the night. Yet, the little AppleTV set being the size of a small plate, will complete the entertainment needs of any screen locked TV fan. The magic circle will be completed when Steve Jobs announced 8 years ago the vision of the "i".

And let me tell you that the little "i" is not a self professed love but the starting letter of integration and innovation. Yes, TV or Entertainment alone are not important enough by itself but integration of entertainment expressed in a new term I call "INTERTAINMENT".

Watch that little gadget called appleTV (and the other johnny come late electronic giants) wipe out TV as we know it today.

Everyone had a good laugh on me when about 4 months ago I said that soon car dealerships would be obsolete due to the internet... Who's dropping the ball now since GM has announced to do away with another 2,400 dealerships and will start selling cars via e-BAY!!!!

We live in interesting times and we "ain't seen nothing yet". Hold on to your hat because it will be a rocky ride for those that still hold on to "survival of the fittest" and not "survival through adaptability".
