Amelia Island
Today: A Fire Weather Watch will remain in effect this afternoon with breezy winds and low relative humidity levels that will elevate fire concerns. Otherwise, expect a sunny day with highs in the low 70s and NNW winds at 10 to 20 mph.
Tropical Storm Ida has formed in the SW Caribbean with sustained winds of 50 mph as of Wednesday evening. Her current projected path has her becoming a depression as she crosses Nicaragua and Honduras on Thursday and Friday. Ida may push into the open waters of the Gulf of Mexico early Tuesday morning, once again as a Tropical Storm. We will keep an eye on her for you, so be sure to check back for updates.
Tonight: Mostly clear overnight will drop our lows in the 50s with winds mild and from the north.
Tomorrow: Some clouds with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the upper 50s on Amelia Island.
Saturday: Partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 60s and lows hovering around 60 degrees along Fernandina Beaches.
Sunday: Variable clouds with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the upper 60s.
