The American Cancer Society Relay for Life® is working to vote cancer off Amelia Island on Saturday at Main Beach in Fernandina. There are 11 teams already signed up to walk to beat cancer. Come out and cheer them on or walk with them. The walk begins at noon on Saturday and continues until 6am Sunday morning.

Survivors and caregivers will make a special walk and all others can be there supporting them. There will also be a Luminaria Ceremony of Hope at sunset. Each luminaria has a special meaning. Some celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer and have lived to tell their stories. Many remember the lives of those who have been lost to this disease. All represent someone special who has been profoundly affected by cancer and the family and friends who continue to fight back in their honor.
