A Savory Place Cook Book
Last Tuesday Evening at a Gala Affair, Micah’s Place for Battered Women presented a fundraiser cookbook to some 150 invited guest in the beautiful setting of the newly renovated Mt. Hope Plantation House here on Amelia Island. The event was organized to perfection, using the front gardens as an elaborate dining room while guests were also invited to tour the tastefully decorated mansion.
Due to scheduling issues we had to decline the invitation to sit down and enjoy the buffet, but found the board of Micah’s Place totally accommodating in our request for a short interview on the beautiful hardcover cook book titled “A Savory Place” with carefully selected favorite dishes of Amelia Island.
The book is available on the website www.asavoryplace.com and strongly recommended, not only because it supports the great cause of Micah’s Place, but also because you need it in your kitchen.
Featuring 169 recipes, hand-selected and carefully tested by a dedicated team of Ladies Auxiliary members of Micah’s Place, the cookbook will take you on a delicious journey from appetizers with an Southern-island flair, all the way through desserts that capture the essence of relaxing as the sun sets over the salt marsh and the moon rises over the Atlantic. Each section also includes the gorgeous island photography of Max Hertweck, making the book something that you will want to display on your coffee table as much as use in your kitchen!
