Andrea Bocelli and Guest; Season has started
It was a balmy nice Fall evening Sunday night here on Amelia Island. Whether in shorts or long pants, the weather was perfect for early December in Florida. Quite a difference from the dreariness of a rained out Saturday a day earlier. Having taken care of the day’s commitments and necessities, a relaxed Happy Hour on the porch was waiting in the wings and maybe a Christmas show for the evening. Well it became a wonderful two-in-one.
Quickly clicking through the TV offerings on a Sunday night, my wife’s surfing finger stopped on PBS.
On screen was Italian Tenor Andrea Bocelli in a beautiful wintery setting, treating an audience to some of the most moving Christmas tunes ever composed.
We quickly decided it was going to be an Evening with Andrea Bocelli and Guests at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood CA.
People what a treat.
Sitting on our back porch in comfortable chairs, a table in between the chairs holding a bottle of wine and two glasses and an occasional falling star across the dark sky as forecasted. Magic didn’t even come close to this experience.
If I had any trouble getting into a Holiday mood this year, Sunday night clinched the deal.
Andrea Bocelli is a gem with a sustain in his voice that I personally have never heard before. His festive serenity and voice beautifully contrasted the guest appearances of greats like Reba McIntyre, Cathy Jenkins, Nathalie Cole. My absolute high point was the duet with Soul Super Star Mary J. Blige with whom Bocelli performed “What Child is This”. Absolutely breath taking.
I’m looking forward to Christmas this year with my loved ones, friends and family. And if you’re looking to get in the mood for the Holidays and shake off the ongoing mental attacks on our livelihood, I suggest to check out the PBS programming guide and find out when they have a repeat of this wonderful program called My Christmas with Andrea Bocelli and you’ll realize that happiness has little to do with shuffling green pieces of paper between the Feds, Wall Street, the IRS and your wallet.
