In conjunction with American Legion Post 54, sponsors and local businesses, the Rally expects to attract motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country on their way down to Daytona for Bike Week. “It’s part of the natural migration route as the Amelia Island Last Leg Rally takes place the weekend before Daytona’s Bike Week,” according to Rally Chairman Bart Clark of J&L Graphics.
Murray’s Grille in Yulee will kick off the weekend with a “Meet and Greet” on Friday night where visitors can pre-register for events, pick up rally information and enjoy good food and entertainment.
Saturday’s events start with a scenic benefit run from Post 54 that will showcase North East Florida along parts of A1A, Highway 17 and other rural roads, ending back in Fernandina. There will be a “Bike Show” in Parking Lot “A” at the waterfront on Centre Street that afternoon plus vendors, displays and entertainment along parts of 8th Street and in Central Park. On Sunday the fun continues with a second benefit run, vendors and entertainment in Central Park and Bike Games located on the school board property across the street from Central Park.
The Rally organizers are raising funds for a great cause, and at the same time bringing some fun and excitement to our downtown area.
