Girl Scout Cookies on the Rise
One of the great organizations, in my opinion is the Girl Scouts.  I think this is a solid foundation for our young girls and helps prepare them for life.  Every January I kind of look forward to ordering Girl Scout cookies.  Over the years I have really come to like the Thin Mints and I must confess I eat them all.
This year we will have a new treat to try out.¬† The Girl Scouts will introduce a new cookie named the “Thank U Berry Munch” cookie.¬† I don’t know about you but personally I can’t wait to give it a try.¬† I have been a big Girl Scout cookie fan for as long as I can remember.¬† I think cookies¬† in general are the absolute comfort food, perhaps not the best choice for the waist line, but comforting nonetheless.
The new cookie that is being introduced this year is the good news, now for the bad news.¬† The price for Girl Scout cookies is going up.¬† Yup, you heard it right, this recession has hit even the Girl Scouts.¬† The price now will be $4 a box, up 50 cents from previous years.¬† This increase will not stop me from making my usual order, with the addition of a box of the new Thank U Berry Munch flavor, because I believe in this organization and the young ladies who we will be looking to in the future as leaders, home makers, mothers, CEO’s and business owners of this great nation.¬† But let’s not forget, if the price of Girl Scout cookies is on the rise, what does that reveal about everything else?
