Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 but both go on to the last 16, while the other game in Group A between host South Africa and France saw South Africa win routing out the French 2-1 being one of the Champion contenders. However the South African win was not enough the warrant a place in the last 16. The “Bafana” can keep their heads high although it is the first time in history that the host country is not advancing to the next round.
