In 2005, The Tybee Island Pirate Festival was created as an event to help boost visitation to the island in the off-season months. The event has grown in popularity each year since and even received a top 20 designation in October 2009 from the Southeast Tourism Society.

The event is always held on Columbus Day weekend and will be held October 7th – 9th, 2011.

Along with a thieves market full of vendor booths and food stations there is the Main Stage entertainment included A1A, the Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band, Eric Culberson and a Journey Tribute Band. The Little Matey’s Cove includes a pirate bounce house, free face painting, a magic show and more for the kids.

Children 12 and under are free. A weekend pass is only $17.50 and tickets to the Swashbucklers Bash (21 years and older only) are $30.00.
