2012 Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival Pirate Parade
Fernandina Beach, FL – Applications are now being accepting for the annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival Pirate Parade, sponsored by The Residence Inn Amelia Island, to be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. on Centre Street in historic downtown Fernandina Beach on beautiful Amelia Island.
Make plans now to participate in this fun and exciting event! Deadline for entry is Friday, April 16, 2012.
The theme for the 2012 Pirate Parade “Shrimping through the Years” Pick Your Favorite Decade. Entries could be a floating time capsule representing the shrimping industry in the years of choice, as one example. The 8 Flags should be historically accurate. Prizes will be awarded for the top three entries in the following categories:
- 1. Commercial or Commercially Sponsored Non-Profit
2. Non-Profit or Civic Organization
3. Walking, Performing Unit or Vintage/Unique Vehicle

All participants must pre-register by Friday, April 16, 2012. Parade Application packets are available online at www.shrimpfestival.com or they can be picked at The Residence Inn Amelia Island, 2301 Sadler Road, Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau, 102 Centre Street (Depot) or AIFBY Chamber of Commerce in Gateway Center.
The Pre-Parade Safety meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 6 pm at the Residence Inn, Amelia Island, 2301 Sadler Road. A representative of each registered entrant must attend. A late entry fee of $50 will be required for completed applications received after the deadline of Friday, April 16th.
