Ribbon Cutting – Second Chance
5 p.m., Monday, March 4
1002 S. 14th St., Fernandina Beach

Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the new location of the Nassau Humane Society’s Second Chance store with a ribbon cutting.

Come wish Second Chance success in its new location in the 8 Flags Shopping Center and enjoy light refreshments.

Second Chance features gently used items of all kinds, including furniture, household items, collectibles, books and much more. Stop in to shop or to bring your donations. The store is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. All proceeds benefit the homeless animals at Nassau Humane Society and offer them a Second Chance at life.

Island Council – The Mustard Seed Cafe

Mary Ann Waikart from 8 Flags Playscapes will speak about the organization’s plans to build a community inclusive playground, newly named the “Pirate Playground,” during the March meeting of the Chamber’s Island Council.

Admission is free for Chamber members; $25 for non-members. Optional breakfast available. Prospective Chamber members should contact Chamber Business Development Coordinator Lynne Starling for information about attending.

Grow your business by making and strengthening your connections with Amelia Island-based businesses at the Island Council, which meets at 8:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of the month.

Yulee Area Council – Chick-fil-A

The Yulee Area Council meets at 8:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month to network and discuss issues of interest to the Yulee business community. Maureen Paschke of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida is our speaker in March.

Ribbon Cutting – National Pain Care

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce welcomes National Pain Care to the community with a ribbon cutting.

After eight years of providing interventional pain management services to hundreds of patients in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida, Southeast Spine and Rehabilitation has been purchased by Dr. Robert Windsor, a nationally known physician, educator and expert on interventional pain care, and CEO of National Pain Care, Inc.

Business After Hours – Advance Rehabilitation

Network with up to 150 Chamber members at Business After Hours, Nassau County’s biggest networking event, sponsored in March by Advance Rehabilitation, A Taste of Wine by Steve and My Personal Chef.

Business After Hours is a great way to meet other local business people and make contacts that will help grow your business. There is always great food, drinks, door prizes and, of course, networking!

Admission to Business After Hours is $5 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members. Prospective members should contact Business Development Coordinator Lynne Starling for information about attending.

Google Local Plus and Your Business – AIFBY Chamber of Commerce
8 a.m. and noon, Friday, March 22

The AIFBY Chamber kicks off its Build a Better Business education series with “Google Local Plus and Your Business.” Presenters will be Lara Seaman of RevLocal and Karen Hagerman of Spherographic. RevLocal is a Google Adwords Certified Partner and Spherographic is a Google Trusted Photographer.

The two will give an overview of Google Local Plus business pages, how to use them to promote traffic to a website and business and how to set up business pages and make changes. The presentation also will include information on the new “Google Business Photos” program, which provides an interactive 360-degree “virtual tour” inside a business.

Space is limited to 25 people per session. Admission is free for AIFBY Chamber members; $25 for non-members. Reservations are required and may be made through the Chamber’s online events calendar at www.islandchamber.com.

Health Care Council – Peck Center
8 a.m. Tuesday, March 26

Get involved in the Chamber’s Health Care Council’s second year of raising awareness of health care services in Nassau County and developing professional contacts among local health-related organizations.

March’s meeting is hosted by the Nassau Alcohol, Crime and Drug Abatement Coalition, a community prevention coalition committed to reducing substance use among our county’s youth and striving to eliminate the related consequences.

Admission is free to Chamber members, $25 for non-members. Prospective members should contact Business Development Coordinator Lynne Starling for information about attending.

Government Affairs Committee – AIFBY Chamber of Commerce
8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27

The Government Affairs Committee works to increase awareness of regulatory and legislative issues affecting AIFBY Chamber members by encouraging input and participation in local committees and boards.

The GAC meets the last Wednesday of the month to discuss issues and to recommend formal policy stances for adoption by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
