The 2017 Quilts By The Sea Quilt Show, sponsored by the Amelia Island Quilt Guild will feature over 200 guild members’ quilted creations on display at the Atlantic Recreation Center this Friday and Saturday.
The 2017 Quilts By The Sea Quilt Show, sponsored by the Amelia Island Quilt Guild will feature over 200 guild members’ quilted creations on display at the Atlantic Recreation Center, located at 2500 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach is ADA accessible Recreation Center. Free on-site parking.
The show only comes around every three years and will be held Friday and Saturday, February 17th and 18th from 9:00am to 5pm – both days. Admission is $10 for both days, children under 12 are free. Tickets available at the door.
The show will display quilts demonstrating a variety of techniques from traditional to art quilts, hand pieced and appliqued to commercially quilted works. Holiday quilts, quilted wearables and an exhibit of Challenge quilt ‘Pirates of Amelia Island’ are of special interest. There is also a special group of fiber art quilts honoring Judi Wagner, local artist and a founding member of the Guild, available in the Silent Auction.
In addition to the quilts on display a Craft and Quilt Boutique will have hand-crafted items for sale. Fabric, patterns, sewing machines and other merchandise will be available in the Merchant Mall from a variety of vendors. The Silent Auction features wall sized beautiful quilted creations. There will be Door Prizes, Basket Raffles and Technique Demonstrations, as well.
