Mark your calendar for A Diamond 10-Year Celebration to benefit Micah’s Place Domestic Violence Center with special celebrity guest speaker, Domestic Violence Activist, Actor & Best-Selling Author Victor Rivas Rivers,
Celebrating 10-years of operating as Nassau County’s certified Domestic Violence Shelter, this party will have a “Roaring 20’s” theme. The event will be held at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation on Saturday, November 9, 2013. A VIP meet and greet with Victor Rivas Rivers will be 5:00 pm, a cocktail reception will be 6:00 pm, and dinner will be 7:00 pm.
There will also be fun and unique silent auction items available to help raise funds for Micah’s Place’s programs and services.
Victor Rivas Rivers, a veteran film star, former NFL Miami Dolphins player, a childhood survivor of domestic violence, and best-selling author of “A Private Family Matter,” will be speaking to help raise awareness and activism of related forms of abuse, along with ways that individuals and communities can do more to end violence. A masterful storyteller whose topics are as diverse as his background, Victor Rivas Rivers is deeply passionate about combating stereotypes and cultural prejudice. He shares his strategies for challenging these stereotypes with corporate and college audiences alike. A compelling, inspiring speaker whose hope, humor, and honesty shine through every presentation, he has been called, “A big man – in heart and soul.”

Tickets will be $125.00 per person and will go on sale early September.
Micah’s Place is a Certified Domestic Violence Center and the only one serving Nassau County, Florida. The mission is to provide prevention and intervention services to victims of domestic violence and to provide education within the community to affect change in behavior and attitudes relating to domestic violence.
