How much could be done if we pitched in two hours to clean the beaches of July 4th debris?
With so many heading to the beaches to celebrate the 4th of July with family picnics, cook-outs, games, and their own fireworks – July 5th finds more litter than usual along our beaches. Keep Nassau Beautiful is holding a Fireworks Collection. This is an After Party for Our Oceans. Clean up will be held Friday, July 5th, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. where volunteer will gather debris from their choice of popular beaches from North Beach to American Beach. Supplies are provided.
By all means, feel free to bring your own trash bag and pick up trash anywhere you’d like!
We want to do our best to keep the holiday’s trash from washing out to sea or staying on our shores. Join your neighbors and walk the beaches to collect litter and debris, here are the meeting locations:
North Beach Park – North End of Island
Main Beach – 32 North Fletcher Avenue
Seaside Park (Sadler Road Beach Access) – 2002 South Fletcher Avenue
Peter’s Point Beach Access – Peter’s Point Road
American Beach – Lewis Street Access
