Amelia Arts Academy is YOUR Community School of the Arts
For 18 years, Amelia Arts Academy has been Nassau County’s ONLY non-profit school of the arts. Sure, anyone can offer an art class or music lessons – but not anyone can offer the area’s most qualified faculty under one roof at an organization that is truly owned by and operates for the community.

Teen Lesson in Session At Amelia Arts Academy, we believe that everyone, regardless of age, race, interest, background, or financial means should have the chance to participate in the arts. When we are able to introduce children to an art they love and watch them flourish as a musician or an artist, we feel like we have done our own small part to make the world a better place. |

Why do we believe in the power of the arts? The Arts create jobs! Last year, the arts generated an estimated $37 billion nationally, with a contribution of $3.4 billion dollars in Federal Income tax. Children that participate in the arts are happier, healthier, and more successful! Children with arts education have more confidence, lower delinquency rates, better grades, and higher SAT scores. Arts Education aids students in skills needed in the workplace: flexibility, the ability to solve problems and communicate; the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative, and to strive for excellence. Adults benefit from the arts, too! Studies show that adults who participate in the arts retain more mental agility as they age, have lower stress levels, and lead happier, healthier lives. |

Young Artist at Work Amelia Arts Academy is a 501C3 non profit organization that has provided high quality arts instruction and cultural opportunities to everyone in our community since 1992. We have two locations in Nassau County. Our main campus is proudly housed in the Peck Community Center. Our satellite school, Academy West, opened in Callahan in 2006, and is the only arts organization on the west side of our county, with private and group art, voice, guitar, and piano lessons. Each year, we provide a Special Arts program to local agencies serving those in our community with disabilities, and programming for foster children, at risk youth, and senior citizens. Additionally, we provide private instruction and group classes in art and music to over 200 children, teens, adults, and seniors, with another 150 people involved in our community band and ensembles. Our teachers, all highly-qualified working artists in their field give more than 4,500 private art and music lessons, 200 group classes, as well as numerous cultural events, concerts, and performances. |
