Amelia Island Restaurant Week starts this Weekend

2014 Amelia Island Restaurant Week

Discover the Flavors of Amelia Island

A New Year has started and all festival committees are getting ready to hammer out their 2014 festival details. The Shrimp Festival Committee has decided to move the Pirate’s Parade back to the Thursday evening before the Festival and the Blues Festival Committee has announced this year’s Festival dates as September 12 and 13. But the first big island event of the year is traditionally focused on food, appropriately named: Discover the Flavors of Amelia Island. From January 17 through 26, Restaurant Week is the premier dining event held annually on historic Amelia Island, Florida. Spend the week touring some of Amelia Island’s finest restaurants and dining on a variety of both traditional and eclectic menu offerings.

Restaurant Week offers a great opportunity to try a selection of Amelia’s irresistible, award-winning dining options.  Each participating restaurant will offer a prix-fixe menu, including three courses and a non-alcoholic beverage, at either $19 or $29 per person.

And this year a special Kick Off has been arranged as the Ritz-Carlton’s Café 4750 is offering a special Meet the Farmers Event. The celebration begins tonight – January 16- at 6 p.m. and pairs 29 South, Lulu’s, The Salty Pelican and Espana with farmers from the downtown Fernandina Beach Farmer’s Market and local seafood providers. The Cost is $96 per person and includes a reception of hors d’oeuvres, followed by an appetizer buffet of local shellfish, cheeses, fruits, breads, salads and meats. The main entrée features tastings from the restaurant chefs followed by a plated, family style dessert.
Make your reservations by calling 904-277-1100.
