Amelia Island, FL – Northeast Florida’’s Amelia Island has been voted the #5 island in the United States in the 2014 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, finishing in the company of other popular island destinations such as Kauai, Mackinac Island and Puerto Rico.

A total of 20 travel award nominees were chosen by a panel of relevant experts, including travel editors and contributors from USA TODAY, and other Gannett properties. All voting was digital and the 10Best Readers’ Choice Travel Award contest was accessible on the website.
