The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island added 40,000 bees in 4 beehives to its exciting Farm to Table Dining Experience.
The Ritz carlton, Amelia Island is having another one of its famous Farm to Table dinners this coming Friday, April 20 at the Café 4750.
We were invited last year when executive chef Thomas Tolxdorf invited Ritz Carlton suppliers from around the nation to come and explain the movement of freshness and organically grown foods and ingredients. It was a very enjoyable and educational evening.
The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island is inviting you for a repeat performance evening reception and dinner with the farmers and seafood purveyors who supply The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island with fresh, local vegetables, fruits and local seafood.
VIP guests include:
• Michael Leach of North American Bee Hive Company who set up our four beehives with more than 40,000 bees, maintained by our chefs
• Walter Ross of Farmhouse Heirloom Tomatoes
• Matt McLean owner of Uncle Matt’s Citrus
• Mitch Rice co-founder of Gary Seafoods
The evening includes lavish hors d’oeuvres on the terrace with wines from Tablas Creek, followed by dinner with an appetizer bar that includes Mayport shrimp, steamed clams, pastrami salmon, breads, cheeses and antipasti.
The dinner event is served family style with fish, roasted chicken, farm fresh vegetables and a Honey Citrus Trio of Honey Cake, Lemon Cake and Mint Panna Cotta
