Art Gallery on Amelia Island Goes Green

The Waterwheel Art Gallery on the south end of Amelia Island is going green with two great efforts. As more Northeast Florida residents strive to live a greener lifestyle, the need for eco-friendly alternatives is growing. By shopping for certified products and services you know you are receiving the real deal!

The Waterwheel Art Gallery and their experienced staff is the premiere custom framing location on Amelia Island. By offering Certified Forest Friendly Frames, FSC certified Artique Matboards and their new PEFC Certified Frames that are due to arrive any day, the Waterwheel Art Gallery is doing their part by making it easier for you to help us all protect Mother Earth and her natural resources.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the fastest growing forest certification system in the world. The PEFC, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization that ensures the chain of custody from forest to final product meets sustainability standards.

Products used for framing do not have to come from conservation areas, or negatively impact indigenous populations. These seals of excellent standards guarantee that the product is not harvested illegally or made from genetically modified trees. By selling and using materials that carry these third party certifications, consumers in Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island and all of Northeast Florida can now be confident that the items they are purchasing from the Waterwheel Art Galley is from a well-managed and sustainable forest.

The Waterwheel Art Gallery is also encouraging customers to sign up to receive Gallery Openings and Artist Reception invitations via their emailed newsletter. This is a green friendly alternative to the traditional postcard and also saves on postage. If you want to sign up to receive the email newsletter full of current events and upcoming announcements, please add your name to their mailing list found at www.waterwheelgallery.com.
