Be a Chocolatier for a Day at Peterbrooke Amelia Island
Come be a Chocolatier for a day by spending a summer afternoon at Peterbrooke where they will dip, decorate, and package your very own delicious chocolate treats. The class is for kids at heart, ages 8 through 98.
Ask yourself, “Where does Chocolate come from?” and that is where this fun class begins… with a brief history of Chocolate. You will get to see, touch and feel an actual cocoa pod. Next, learn the proper technique on how to “taste” good chocolate with sampling of milk, white and dark chocolates.
Note…there is a lot of sampling that goes on!
You will be taught how Peterbrooke employees temper their coverture chocolate and allow you to try it, too. Then it’s on to making a large Granny Smith, caramel and chocolate covered apple – complete with decorations. You will continue with properly dipping strawberries and have some fun with dipping oreos or pretzels. You get to create a chocolate pizza and decorate a giant chocolate covered marshmallow with lots of white drizzle, candy pieces, chocolate shavings, sprinkles and more.
Our grandson recently attended Peterbrooke’s Chocolatier for a Day class in Fernandina Beach and he said, “The was the best day ever!”
Lunch, beverage and dessert is provided with includes delicious Italian gelato. After lunch you will package all of your items just like they do in the store. You even get to shrink wrap your gift boxes full of the goodies you made in class.
If time allows, you can play a game of “Peterbrooke Bingo” with prizes of Peterbrooke gold chocolate coins.
