Butterfly Breakfast Benefits Wild AmeliaFernandina Beach, FL – Butterflies are the theme at the May 10 breakfast event at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. NY Times bestselling author Mary Alice Monroe will launch her newest book, The Butterfly’s Daughter.

Amelia Island caterer, Leslie Boline Gilchrist (www.gotflavour.com), promises an incredible breakfast buffet including lavender, cranberry and orange scones, coffee cake, lemon pound cake, baked brie with Bing cherry walnut filling, blueberry/pomegranate and cranberry/apple juices, Greek yogurt with homemade granola and seasonal fruit.

James Loper, Reflections of Nature (www.mlnursery.com), will offer tips to attendees on how to attract butterflies to your garden. Wild flowers and butterfly attracting plants will be available for sale. Loper is an expert in native and Florida friendly plants, organic garden supplies and sustainable landscape design services.

The Butterfly’s Daughter, Monroe’s newest book, like her others, offers insights that resonate with women and offer fascinating information about the natural world—this time the monarch butterflies. Monroe will discuss the powerful and inspiring parallels of self discovery with the miracle of metamorphosis and migration.

Tickets are $50 and include a signed copy of the newly released The Butterfly’s Daughter and a gift of milkweed seeds for your garden. The event benefits Wild Amelia Nature Festival, May 20-22, an exciting 3-day festival celebrating the bioregion around Amelia Island and includes nature tours, photography workshops, green business expo, the “Kid’s Niche” and visiting critters from the Jacksonville Zoo.
