Cabaret an Evening of Jazz

Arts Alive Nassau provides arts opportunities and education to children in Nassau who have limited access to the arts.

Cabaret an Evening of JazzCabaret! An Evening of Jazz features Jane Lindberg on the piano and Ernie Ealum on the bass.

This concert will be held at the New Vision Church, located at 96072 Chester Road in Yulee, Florida, on Sunday, February 23 at 5:00 PM.

Expect a wonderful romp of jazz by two exceptional performers! Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served.

Jane Lindberg is well known in this community for all the music she has brought us. She has directed choirs, created The Island Chamber Singers and Songspinners, and designed Arts Alive Nassau all “from scratch!” Recently the Fernandina Observer said, “… her real love is teaching and playing the piano. Bringing music and the arts to local schools is part of her job as President of the Board of Arts Alive Nassau, which has programs in Callahan and Yulee Elementary Schools. These efforts by Arts Alive bring her love of music and arts to students who would not normally have that experience.” She herself has been playing the piano since age three!

Bassist Ernie Ealum has been performing in the southeast for 30 years. He is a Jacksonville University alumni and is the adjunct bass professor at Florida State College of Jacksonville. Ernie has been teaching upright and electric bass in the Jacksonville area for 20 years and maintains his longtime studio at Nice Music in Orange Park, Florida, as well as teaching for the Ronan School of Music in Jacksonville. He has performed with various artists including The Platters, Michael W. Smith, Percy Sledge, The Boril Ivanov Ensemble and The Cox Family. He was also the resident bassist at The Cloister at Sea Island, Georgia for 10 years.

The mission of Arts Alive Nassau is to provide arts opportunities and education to children in Nassau who have limited access to the arts. They are a no-participant-fee based program and depend on donations from individual donors, corporations and government agencies.

Formerly the Amelia Arts Academy, Arts Alive Nassau has carried out this mission since 1992, providing education in the arts at affordable rates to all interested persons, regardless of age, race, religion, ethnic origin, financial means or level of ability. Our current focus is on providing arts programs to children in the community with little or no access to arts education, by offering collaborative after-school programs through the schools and other community organizations.

To support this worthy cause, donations will be gratefully accepted at this concert to benefit Arts Alive Nassau!
