History of the American Soldier @ Fort Clinch State Park

Check out Fort Clinch for an evening under the stars as we salute our armed forces. Watch a timeline review with Soldiers and weapons from 1776 to today. Program features period music and weapons demonstrations.

Admission is a canned food item for Barnabas Food Pantry.

The Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale will be held November 14-15-16 at the Peck Gym, 510 S. 10th St, Fernandina Beach. Most are priced $3 or less. The Book Sale is open to the public on Friday, November 15 at 9:30am until 6pm and on Saturday, November 16 at 9:30 am until 2pm. Book lovers are asked to bring their own sturdy bags or carts for their purchases and although credit cards are accepted, cash is always appreciated.

Community Fall Festival

Memorial United Methodist Church has partnered with the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market to present a Fall Festival. There will be games, races, Toddler Town, kids crafts, bounce houses, cookie decorating, face painting, free hot dogs, and a scavenger hunt for the kids through the farmers and arts market. Pet friendly.

Library Guest Speaker

There will be a guest speaker at the Fernandina Beach Library from the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame

Friends of the Library is pleased to announce that Brenda Eubanks Burnette will speak at the Fernandina Beach Library on November 18th, 6pm on the history of the Florida citrus industry in conjunction with the current art exhibit, “Historic Florida Citrus Labels”, on display in the Fernandina Beach Library Community Room. This exhibit shows the colorful historic advertising art used in Florida between the late 1800s and the 1960s.

Brenda is the current secretary of the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame in Bartow, Florida and coauthor of a new book “Florida’s Citrus Crate Labels, Florida’s First Billboards”, which will available for purchase at the talk.

Many native Floridians here in Fernandina Beach have family ties that connect them to Florida’s citrus history and industry. Come for an entertaining evening about Florida’s history. Refreshments will be served. No reservations are needed.

New Santa Song Book @ The Book Loft

The New Santa Song Book is here and a special presentation will be performed by “elves” on November 23, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Book Loft on Centre Street in Fernandina Beach.

Musician Robert Vasile, known locally for playing the accordion, will have a variety of musical instruments while he tells stories and rings bells. The more the merrier!!!
