Nassau County Scholarship
The Christa Powell Walley Scholarship is available to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate college students who have ties to Nassau County, Florida. This useful and relevant information, especially in today’s economy, was found on the monthly newsletter for the Amelia Island Book Festival.

Named for the late Christa Powell Walley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Powell of Fernandina Beach, the scholarship is dedicated to encouraging writers in their pursuit of a literary career.

Eligibility requirements:
-Recipient must be a Nassau County high school senior, undergraduate or graduate college student who has ties to Nassau County, Florida.
-Must be in good academic standing in high school, college or university.
-Seeking a degree in the English, journalism, creative writing, communication or literature-related fields.
-A citizen of the United States.
-If a college student, you must show ties to Nassau County (for instance, having attended school here, having resided here prior to entering college, parents or grandparents living here, etc.).

The deadline for the 2010 Amelia Island Book Festival Scholarship is December 31, 2009.
