The Grubbs family moved to Fernandina Beach from New Orleans in 1992 and as a Floral Designer, Kim Grubbs started Artistic Florist. After tasting Cold Stone Creamery creations in Jacksonville they decided to open a franchise on Amelia Island. Researching the company, they discovered this was not just another “scoop shop”, so she sold the floral company to her daughter to spend more time in the creamery.

“We make everything in the store fresh daily”, Kim said, “and we are the only true Creamery in our area. We have won numerous awards thru Cold Stone and locally.” They are proud to have won the Best of the Best for six years in a row, since they opened in 2004. Other awards include the Most Valuable Partner awarded by Cold Stone’s corporate office and G. R. I. T. S. (Getting Results in the South).

Something practically unspeakable for a small business was when they became a corporate sponsor with the Jacksonville Jaguars. They made the ice cream in their store in Fernandina and delivered it to every event at the stadium. They have also won Best Co-op and took First Place in the Cold Stone X-Factor Video Contest which featured their crew performing a juggling routine with ice cream and tossing fudge bottles around!

Because of their commitment and proven track record as franchise owners, they often receive many of the test items for Cold Stone before they go to market. They have the only soft serve in the region for Cold Stone Creamery and they introduced the Hot Apple Dumplings for Cold Stone.

Your Amelia Island Cold Stone also designs custom cakes (including wedding cakes) and they can make any flavored ice cream requested for catered events.
