Hi All,

Attached is a ROUGH DRAFT of the script for our project. Since it needs to be under the name of one business, non-profit, or project, I named it "FilmAmelia! Creating Community and joie de vivre through Filmmaking!" It is, of course, open to change.
In creating the script, I tried to incorporate the various projects we spoke of. I did not include all since we have an abundance of riches. If one you particularly like is not represented, please let me know and it will be. Likewise, if you think something on there is not in keeping with what we are trying to accomplish (that is, to sell the contest judges on the fact that we have a very active and creative filmmaking community up here in NE Florida!), speak up. I am not attached to this being any particular way.
You may share your thoughts with me via email or wait until we all gather on Thursday afternoon. I also have no idea how you would like credits listed, if at all, so I'll appreciate input on that, as well.
Be well, my friends. I appreciate all that we are trying to accomplish.

Appreciate the input and the two points of contention. On the Gold Standard issue you are right, but it confuses the bejesus out of Americans even though in isolated communities throughout the Nation competing currencies are already a fact, although still experimental. Ron Paul wants to actually get rid of the Federal Reserve (Evil Empire) and I totally support that idea, since the institution has slowly and methodically moved this country away from being a republic into becoming an empire, leading to the inevitable consequence of large government and negative budgets.

On your second contention - lack of space prevented me from telling the story that I grew up in the Easter part of South Limburg in the Netherlands, directly on the border with Germany. NATO put in the Allied Forces Headquarters (Afcent) on thousands of acres of a previous coal mine in 1967. They moved tens of thousands of soldiers of every branch of the military to our "neighborhood". The impact on the regional economy was massive, but I realize that most of the cost came at the expense of the US Taxpayer, the largest contributor to NATO.

And as to your remark on "instilling democracy"; the internet, Twitter and iPhone have done more to instill democracy in the past few year, than the US military in two centuries. Just consider last year's Islamic Spring around the Mediterranean Sea. May not necessarily be what "we" wanted, but even democracy has several flavors.
Thanks for becoming part of the discussion.

Two points of contention with an otherwise excellent article.

1) Ron Paul's 'gold standard' issue is somewhat misconstrued. What he actually argues for is competing currencies; allow commodity and gold-backed private currencies to circulate alongside Fed-created fiat money and let the market decide which it prefers over time.

2) His non-interventionist policies mean the troops come home and are stationed in the US, where their salaries, base rents and other expenses flow back into local US economies, instead of into the economies of Japan, Germany, and the other places we have troops stationed. Those countries can afford their own defense; no reason for US taxpayers to foot the bill. Not to mention the lives of our troops lost in fruitless attempts to "instill democracy" in societies that aren't ready for it.

We can project force anywhere in the world in 24 hours, and have troops on the ground in 72. Let them stay with their families on American soil until they're needed.

And thanks to Judie for inviting me into the discussion.
