Communities in Schools Drive for Success

Prizes will be awarded for top teams, hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive competitions.

Communities in Schools Drive for SuccessCommunities In Schools of Nassau County will host the inaugural “Drive For Success” Golf Tournament at Amelia River Golf Club on June 28th.

“We are very excited about this event. It will be a wonderful tournament for both men and women golfers, but we are hoping that a lot of women will come out to play. Amelia River is a great course for ladies, and we have selected many of the prizes with them in mind,” said Clara Miller, Golf Tournament Committee Chair.

Prizes selected for women include a set of Laura Diaz golf clubs; entry to the Women Fore Golf clinic at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club; and gift certificates to Ponte Vedra Plastic Surgery, Magna’s, and Cindy’s Hair & Nails.

“Of course, we have a lot of wonderful prizes that appeal to everyone,” says Miller.

Other prizes include rounds of golf and a stay at Pinehurst North Carolina, a foursome of golf at Long Point on Amelia Island Plantation and the Golf Club at North Hampton, and more.

Prizes will be awarded for top teams, hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin, and longest drive competitions. There will also be a raffle at the award ceremony, with tickets available for purchase at registration and during play. Tournament registration is $600.00 per foursome and includes breakfast, greens fees, cart, a box lunch at the turn, raffle tickets, and an award ceremony. Tee-off is at 9:00 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. The public is invited to browse silent auction items and purchase raffle tickets in the Amelia River Clubhouse from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Drive for Success Golf Tournament is sponsored by Florida Public Utilities and is intended to raise awareness and funds for Communities In Schools of Nassau County.
