There is a scheduled meeting Friday, November 18, 2011, for the public to discuss options to keep the post office functioning as a post office downtown. The US Postal Service is considering closing this classic piece of architecture, which many feel is an asset to the charm of Fernandina Beach.
The Postal Service is suggesting using a small shop on Center Street to handle the services.
This is your opportunity to suggest ideas, express your comments (both pros and cons) and become an involved citizen of our community.
The meeting will be held in the former First Baptist Church at 412 Alachua Street, in historic Fernandina Beach, Florida, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.
