Doo Wop Diner on 14th St.
We were sad when the Doo Wop Diner out in Yulee at the intersection of SR200 and 17 closed down several months ago. There was simply not enough business at that spot to sustain a fulltime restaurant operation said Owner Lisa.
Now she is all smiles again with the upcoming opening of Doo Wop Diner right here on the island on 14 th street two doors down from the Cinema.
We went to check out the preparations and met up with her in an almost finished 50’s diner where she was glueing 45 rpm records as a top border on the walls. She is planning to open no later than Friday next week with a menu of 50/60’s staples, safe passing all inspections.
Surrounded by chrome tables and New York diner red booths, Doo Wop can accommodate 73 guests at one time. Lisa is happy to have found this ideal spot and her expectations run high now that she can operate on Amelia island.

This is a great place to eat. I like going there not only for the food but for a chance to take a trip back to the 50's and 60's. Glad to hear they are about to open, I will be there.
