Dr. Seuss's Birthday
Dr. Seuss's Birthday
Dr. Seuss was born on March 2nd in 1904 and wrote many of our favorite childhood books. From East Beach Beasts to a goat on a boat, his lively characters and sing-song poetry captured our attention for hours on end.

Born Theodor Geisel, some of Dr. Seuss’ books are considered controversial or of a political nature such as Horton Hears a Who! Whose moral of the story is “A person is a person, no matter how small,” making many believe this Dr. Seuss’ simple, yet profound statement is about abortion.

Inspired by the birthday of Dr. Seuss, Read Across America also kicks off on March 2nd. The National Education Association calls for every child to be reading in the company of a caring adult on this day. If you want to celebrate Read Across America Day as well as Same Stuff Day, maybe reading to a child would be the perfect solution.
