Duke University Chorale at Amelia Plantation ChapelThe Mouth of Amelia invites you to The Duke University Chorale presented by the Amelia Plantation Chapel on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 7:00 PM. at the Amelia Plantation Chapel at Omni Amelia Island.

WHAT: The Chapel is pleased once again to host the Duke University Chorale in concert on March 6th. They received a welcoming ovation by a full audience here in 2008! The Chorale comprises 50 singers and performs numerous concerts throughout the year, both on and off campus, with tours annually during Spring Break. In previous years, the Chorale has toured the Orient, Europe, Mexico, and the British Isles. Their 2012 tour will take them through the south for concerts in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. The tour repertoire will feature both sacred and secular music ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary works.

WHO: The conductor, Rodney Wynkoop, came to the Chorale in 1984. He holds the title of Professor of the Practice of Music with Duke’s Music department and directs the 100 voice Chapel Choir. Dr. Wynkoop earned his doctoral degree in choral conducting at Yale’s School of Music.

COST: Admission at the door: $10 per person.
