11:00 am Parade of Paws 2014

The Nassau Humane Society will host the 15th Annual Parade of Paws on Saturday, December 6 at the Old Railroad Depot in downtown Fernandina Beach. Parade will start at 11:00 am. Pet owners can register and parade their dogs on the sidewalks of Centre Street, with all proceeds benefiting the Nassau Humane Society.

Trophies are awarded for the top three “best dressed” entrants, with gift certificates in the categories of “best (pet) personality,” “looks most like owner” and “most original.”

America’s Youth Inc. invites your organization to be a part of the 2014 Annual Lighted Christmas Parade at Saturday, December 13, 2014. The parade processional will line up at 4:30 pm at Buccaneer Ball Field, 11th and Ash Street. The parade will begin at 6 pm.

We request that all entries reflect the theme “Christmas Memories & Tradition.”

If the parade is cancelled due to rain, it will be held the following day, at 6 p.m. Sunday, December 14.

The friendliest farmer’s market in Florida is located right here in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach! Open each Saturday, except for Shrimp Festival, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Market features over 30 vendors with produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, jams, spreads, dips, shrimp, a highlighted non-profit organization and local talent, too!

4:00 pm Doo Wop Concert (2 Performances)

Get started on your New Year’s celebrations early!

On Tue Dec 30, head to a live Doo-Wop concert featuring the acappella group BLEND, at Fernandina Little Theatre (1014 Beech St.); performances are at 4:00 and 8:00 PM.

This Illinois-based, acappella Doo-Wop group brings back hits from the 50s and 60s with a twist of fun, and performed for 2 sold-out houses last December. Tickets are $17 and can be purchased in advance at The UPS Store on Amelia Island.

FLT is a small, intimate space, and patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to guarantee seating availability.

    Can the events be for a fee.  We have art workshops but they are not free although open to anyone who wished to attend and pay the fee.  These are nationally known instructors and  do not come for free.

    Events that are one day events are perfect for the calendar, and of course multiple day festivals, even if there is a fee or admission price. If the event/class is multiple days a press release is encouraged, and we publish those for free, too. (Sometimes we will put them in the calendar AND publish the press release information.)
