Save the planet, shop at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be open October 19, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. The farmers market boasts nearly 40 tents of original, producer made, home grown, or hand crafted baked goods, seasonal produce, and gourmet jams and jellies. If you shop among our farmers and grower booths, you will notice an amazing difference between fresh grown and store bought vegetables. The seedless European cucumbers grown by Bacon Select Produce, in a climate controlled Oceanway greenhouse, are harvested the day before the market and only shipped about 25 miles. The seedless cucumbers found at Harris Teeter are a product of Canada, so you can only imagine the additional consumption of natural resources that are used just to bring those foreign cucumbers to Amelia Island, Florida.

Food travels about 1,500 miles to get from the farm, to your local grocery store, and then to your table. Cucumbers are waxed, citrus is gassed, and potatoes can easily be stored for five weeks or more before consumption. The food at a farmers market is fresh. It is so fresh you may find a bug or two on your veggies. That is okay, would you rather have a bug on your fruit or toxic pesticides? The meat, eggs, and dairy come from happy animals who live cage free and are raised by the ranchers you meet in the Market Place without antibiotics and hormones. Even the local shrimper who brings these tasty crustaceans to the farmers market catches them wild, right here in our local waters!

Other healthy and natural options include local honey, naturally fermented olives and pickles from Olive My Pickle, fresh squeezed lemonade, bath and body products made only from natural ingredients, soy candles, vinegar, spices, nuts, sweet treats, gluten free products, and much more.

The farmers and arts markets couldn’t exist without the generous support of our sponsors such as Jack and Diane’s Cafe, All American Gutter and Vintage Amelia Island Apartments. Jack and Diane’s Cafe is open Saturdays and Sundays for breakfast and lunch. It’s a proven fact that you will buy more food if you shop when you are hungry, so check them out for breakfast so you don’t shop at the farmers market on an empty stomach. This will be the first week Vintage Amelia has joined us in the market and they will be on hand to tell you about their new island apartments. They offer a 24 hour fitness center with fitness on demand, a yoga studio, and Peloton bikes. They have smart TVs, an interactive game lounge, billiards, an WiFi is offered throughout their clubhouse and its amenities. There is even a coffee bar to enjoy. These brand new apartments are located in Fernandina Beach for a vibrant lifestyle beyond your expectations.

All American Gutter Protection offers the best micro mesh gutter guards and gutters at highly competitive pricing. They are in the market almost every Saturday setting up hassle free appointments for free quotes and more information. These gutter guards are backed by a lifetime performance guarantee and will give you clog free and leaf free gutters.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is located on North Seventh Street, with the Arts Market located right next door at the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Centre Streets. Between the two markets you will find nearly 75 vendors offering you the freshest, newest, coolest, and most artistic food, arts, crafts, and furniture in Northeast Florida. Your well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome, too. This very well might be Florida’s Friendliest Farmers Market. For the latest information and pictures, please find both markets on the World Wide Web.
