Fernandina Beach Market Place Summer Farmers Market

Fernandina Beach Market Place, also known as the Amelia Island Market Place, has been under new ownership for nearly two years.

Fernandina Beach Market Place Summer Farmers MarketSummer is in full swing at the Fernandina Beach farmers’ market located on N. 7th Street, in the historic business district of Amelia Island.

And one of the best ways to spend a Saturday morning on the coast is to taste and sample your way through one of Florida’s friendliest farmers’ markets and we’d love for you to join us on July 19, 2014.

Great Harvest Bread Company has returned to the farmers’ market after a change in ownership at the Amelia Island location. This father and son team, Doug and Brandon, will continue to bring your favorites including the Mud Bar, a vanilla brownie placed on top of their traditional chocolate brownie. Other favorites include the Peanut Butter Coma which has Reese’s Peanut Butter chips, and both milk and white chocolate chips. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, go for the Kahuna Bar; it’s loaded with butterscotch, white and milk chocolate chips. Their popular Savannah Bar is full of seasonal crops and this time of the year the strawberry/rhubarb is fantastic! Among a variety of breads, tea cakes and cookies, they also bring Harvest Bars that are full of flax, millet, sesame and sunflower seeds, cranberries, raison puree and honey.

Another local’s favorite is Tom and Lucy’s Island Juice and Java. Enjoy their lemonade that is fresh squeezed or pressed to order. Their delicious mango/pineapple or strawberry/banana smoothies are a refreshing treat, and their ice-cold “latte on the rocks” or a frozen coffee sure cures the caffeine craving on a sticky summer morning. They also carry a variety of “always free trade” whole bean coffees that are locally roasted.

J.D. Beef has some of the best deals on beef. While other regions are struggling to keep their herds watered and fed, this all natural, farm fresh angus beef comes directly from their free range farm to your table. Free of antibiotics, steroids and vaccinations, their cattle are raised in a closed herd that grazes on Bermuda grass in the summer and ryes in the winter. The fresh drinking water originates on the farm and they only harvest the beef when it is ready. Enjoy steaks, roasts, ribs, stew meat, and ground beef. Also available are organs and such like liver, ox tail, tongue and soup bones.

Moore Pigs will be at the farmers’ market this week, too. So come on down on stock up on delicious pork from happy pigs!

Your classic favorite tunes will be playing and we invite you to bring the family out for a great experience where you will run into old friends and likely make new ones, too.

Open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine, the Fernandina Beach Market Place is an open air market located under beautiful Spanish moss draped oaks and old cedar trees typical of NE Florida.

We are open rain or shine, between Centre and Alachua Streets on Amelia Island, Florida. Bring your family, your neighbors, your friends and even your well behaved, leashed pets are welcome to join you.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place is also known as the Amelia Island Market Place. It has been nearly two years since the previous owner of the farmers market on 7th Street relocated her market to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation. The majority of those vendors have returned to N. 7th Street, and week after week we are told how much better the new market is… so if you haven’t been to the farmers’ market downtown lately, you should check it out now!
