Jeremiah Gleeson is hoping residents will be supportive of a new hazardous and electronic waste recycling program. Batteries, cell phones and computer monitors, for example are safe until the device breaks and their contaminants leak into the ground causing environmental hazards.
Areas will be set up around town on “Green Days” where residents are encouraged to drop off their electronics for recycling. Groups such as Keep Nassau Beautiful will be working with the City to make this a successful program.
