Okay this is getting confusing: Santa and Mrs. Claus coming by boat? This is the exact same tradition as I know from my native Amsterdam where Santa, called Sinterklaas arrives at the docks from his home in Spain, with his helper Pete (no wife here as Sinterklaas is a Catholic Bishop). I have never heard about Santa on this side of the Atlantic Pond coming in by boat. More on the history of the Holidays and how they are celebrated across the globe you can find in “Celebrate the Holidays in Frugal Flair”.
