This is your opportunity to get a little spring cleaning done around your home without worrying about how to dispose of certain items.
The City of Fernandina Beach is hosting a Hazardous Waste and Recycling Event this SAturday, April 20, 2013, from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at the city’s maintenance yard located at 1017 S. 5th Street, on Amelia Island.
This is your opportunity to get a little spring cleaning done around your home without worrying about how to dispose of certain items.
Bring the following:
Glass bottles, number 1 and 2 plastic, propane tanks, steel and aluminum cans, paper and cardboard, tires (limit four), electronics, appliances, automotive fluids, oil filters, scrap metal, paint, paint thinners, corrosives, hazardous chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, flourescent bulbs, car and home batteries, household cleaning products and OTC medications.
Paper shredding services will also be available!
Residents may also dispose of household waste ONLY at Home Depot, in the parking lot in Yull, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the same day!
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Keep Nassau Beautiful will be on-site to collect the following:
Aerosols, antifreeze, batteries, flourescent bulbs, corrosives, diesel, gasoline, household cleaners, electronics, insectisides, pesticides, medications, paint thinners, pool chemicals, propane tanks, flares, used oil and filters, fertilizers and paint and paint products.
