Gregor MacGregor at the Amelia Island MuseumThe Amelia Island Museum of History invites you to its 3rd on 3rd Street presentation on Friday, March 15, at 6 pm. Guest speaker Richard MacMaster will present to us one of the most enigmatic characters in the history of Amelia Island, Gregor MacGregor – in his own words.

Mr. MacMaster has studied MacGregor’s manuscripts at the Register House (national archives) in Edinburgh, Scotland, and will use what he has discovered to illuminate this mysterious historical figure. Join us as we gather insight into the mind of this truly fascinating mercenary and adventurer, who was able to take control of Amelia Island for several months in 1817.

This program is free for members with a suggested donation of $5.00 for non members.
