In Search of Me, Inc. is pleased to announce the official IRS designation of In Search of Me, Inc. as a 501(c)3 charitable organization. This means, among many things, that contributions are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Special thanks go to attorney Pamela Brown and her team at Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP for helping us achieve this significant milestone.
In Search of Me, Inc. is the non-profit corporation that helps teens help themselves through In Search of Me Cafe website and programs.
Young people connect in a cyber café and begin the lifelong process of understanding themselves. A media-rich website combines edutainment content on life skills with a 30-minute-format TV series set in a cyber café filled with people ranging from 13 to 19 years old.
In the Café, there are flat screen monitors on walls and tables, plus mobile devices in hands. Acting as moderator, a barista leads discussions held among the group as they connect to others around the world and explore themes impacting the lives of young people everywhere.
On the In Search of Me Café website, viewers of the tv series interact with online users to share viewpoints on various topics about life. A rich social media element of the website encourages users to blog and/or stream video responses to content residing on the site. The cast from the tv series host the site, and serve as bloggers along with a panel of advisors from various walks of life.
