The Kids Fun Zone at Shrimp Festival will now be located at Central Park, on Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach.
The Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, always held the first weekend in May, is expanding the Kids Fun Zone. Now located at Central Park, on Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach, the bigger and better location will permit the Festival Committee to bring you more vendors, more activities, more entertainment and more fun!
Kids Zone Festival Chair Catherine Eleazer said, “We’ve outgrown our location; it was too crowded.” The new location offers the extra space to add more kid friendly booths, games and other concessions. “Every year, I have to turn away vendors who would be a great addition to the Shrimp Festival,” Catherine added. “The Kids Zone really brings people together. I stay in touch with many of the exhibitors’ year ’round, it’s like one big, happy family!”
The upcoming 52nd Annual Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival kicks-off with a 6 o’clock Pirate Parade on Thursday, April 30th. Then on Friday, historic, downtown Fernandina Beach, Florida is transformed into a festive weekend of art, pirates, music, and shrimp! There is a juried art show with over 300 artisans competing for more than $7,500 in cash awards. In addition there will be over 50 antique dealers, contests throughout the festival for kids of all ages, live musical entertainment including local, regional and national acts, scores of playful pirates, and of course, the newly expanded Kids Fun Zone, in its more convenient location, with children’s rides and activities, family friendly entertainment and more of the foods kids love.
The Kids Fun Zone will be open:
Friday, May 1, 2015, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm
Saturday, May 2nd, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; and
