Annual Awards Dinner

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce will salute achievement by the local business community in 2013 during its Annual Award Dinner.

Awards will be presented to the Large, Medium, Small and Green Businesses of the Year as well as the Customer Service Employee, Young Business Leader and Business Leader of the Year.

The event is sponsored by The Brumos Companies, CBC National Bank, JetBlue, Krystal Klean, Omni Amelia Island Plantation, Residence Inn Amelia Island and VyStar Credit Union.

Yulee Area Council

Connect with local business owners and professionals, generate referrals and discuss issues of interest to the Yulee business community at the AIFBY Chamber’s Yulee Area Council.

The council meets at 8:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month.

Affordable Care Act Basics

Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce will present “Affordable Care Act Basics” for individuals and families with Susan Perry of the Health Planning Council of Northeast Florida. Perry is the federally certified healthcare Navigator for Nassau County.

Perry will present information and answer questions on the Affordable Care Act, income eligibility for tax credits and subsidies, the “metal levels” used to rank the coverage and costs of available plans and more.

Quarterly Luncheon

Michael Harris, a Peak Performance Strategist with the Anthony Robbins Companies, will be the speaker at the AIFBY Chamber’s first Quarterly Luncheon of 2014.

Harris will focus on the strategies, activities and the mindset to be successful in 2014. He’ll identify the limiting beliefs that could hold you back from being successful in the coming year. He also will share information about attending an upcoming event with Tony Robbins called “Unleash the Power Within.”

Harris advises and consults with executives, managers and sale professionals in the areas of personal and professional achievement and sales mastery. He travels and speaks to more than 350 companies a year giving presentations and running training programs throughout North America. His greatest passion is to inspire and help human beings achieve their full potential and dreams.

Admission is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for non-members until Friday, January 24; $5 additional afterwards. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance or all charges will apply.

Government Affairs Committee

The AIFBY Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee works to increase awareness of regulatory and legislative issues affecting the local business community.

The committee meets at 8:30 a.m. the last Wednesday of the month at the Chamber to discuss issues and to recommend formal policy stances for adoption by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. All AIFBY Chamber members are welcome to attend and participate.
