Yulee Area Council
8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8
Whataburger, 463773 State Road 200, Yulee

Connect with local business owners and professionals, generate referrals and discuss issues of interest to the Yulee business community at the Yulee Area Council, hosted by Whataburger located in The Shoppes at Amelia Concourse.

In July, Det. Wayne Harrington with the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office will make a presentation on crime prevention.

Admission is free for Chamber members; $25 for non-members. Newcomers are always welcome! Optional breakfast available. Online registration is required at www.islandchamber.com/events.aspx.

Government Affairs Committee
8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 16
AIFBY Chamber of Commerce, 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101G, Amelia Island

The AIFBY Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee works to increase awareness of regulatory and legislative issues affecting the local business community.

The committee meets at 8:30 a.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the Chamber to discuss issues and to recommend formal policy stances for adoption by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

The AIFBY Chamber is located in the Gateway to Amelia complex at A1A/Eighth Street and the Amelia Island Parkway. You’ll find our office behind the flag poles.

Business After Hours
5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 17
Council on Aging of Nassau County, 1367 S. 18th St., Fernandina Beach

Connect with up to 150 Chamber members at Business After Hours, Nassau County’s biggest monthly business event, sponsored in July by the Council on Aging of Nassau County.

Business After Hours is a great way to meet other local business people and make contacts that will help you get referrals. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards! There is always great food, drinks and door prizes. Attire is business casual.

The mission of the Council on Aging of Nassau County is to provide services of compassionate care that foster independence and help our clients remain active, valued members of their community. The COA offers programs designed to allow seniors to remain intellectually, socially and physically active as long as they are able including Adult Day Health Care, In-Home Care, Meals on Wheels, COA Transportation, support services and two Senior Centers (Fernandina Beach and Hilliard).

The Council on Aging of Nassau County’s Eastside Senior Center is adjacent to Baptist Medical Center Nassau on South 18th Street in Fernandina Beach. For more information, visit www.coanassau.com.

Health Care Council

The AIFBY Chamber Health Care Council in July will be hosted by Baptist Medical Center Nassau, located on South 18th Street between Nectarine and Lime streets in Fernandina Beach.

Join us in the hospital’s conference room as representatives from Baptist Medical Center Nassau and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida give updates on their organizations and their partnership in the newly opened Center for Caring on the hospital campus.

July Membership Luncheon
11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 29

This year will mark the completion of major fan friendly enhancements to EverBank Field including the installation of the world’s largest video boards. Join the Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce for a “Jaguars Update” with Jacksonville Jaguars President Mark Lamping at our July Membership Luncheon.

Lamping was named president of the Jacksonville Jaguars in February 2012. A veteran of more than 20 years as an executive in professional sports, Lamping became the Jaguars’ first president since the end of the 1996 season.

As president, Lamping oversees all business operations for the Jaguars. Since arriving in Jacksonville he has directed a restructuring of the Jaguars front office, along with multiple initiatives designed to engage with fans, improve the in-stadium experience, increase ticket sales, strengthen relationships with governmental and civic interests and grow business opportunities locally, regionally and internationally.

Admission is $20 for Chamber members; $40 for non-members through Friday, July 25, $5 additional afterwards. Online registration and payment required at www.islandchamber.com/events.aspx. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance or all charges will apply.

The Fernandina Beach Golf Club is located between Amelia Island Parkway and South Fletcher Avenue in Fernandina Beach. From the Amelia Island Parkway, take Via Del Rey Road; from South Fletcher Avenue, take Bill Melton Road.
