July 4th weekend holds many delights for the Farmers' Market in Fernandina Beach on Saturday.
Many visitors will be on Amelia Island July 6th to celebrate an extended Independence Day weekend and we would love for them to visit the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market on N. 7th Street in our historic, downtown district.
Florida summers can be hot, but wandering our open air market, full of fresh from the farm products, where the street is lined with oak trees draped in Spanish moss, is simply the best way to begin a summer Saturday.
Nearly 40 vendors tempt you with a wide assortment of delicious treats including fresh baked breads, organic blueberries, amazing produce, fresh cut flowers, hormone and antibiotic free beef and pork, sweet honey, beef jerky, mini cupcakes, homemade bread and butter pickles, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. We even have an organic dog treat booth, so bring your best friend with you.
If the warm humid air leaves you thirsty, enjoy a strawberry banana smoothie, raspberry iced tea or a fresh lemonade to keep you cool.
Aniko’s Hungarian Bakery returns this week as well as local restaurants Lulu’s and Kelley’s Courtyard Cafe with their specialties like whiskey cherries blended into dark chocolate chip cookies, or a pimento cheese appetizer. Ian Hayes and Company will provide some live mood music, the Nassau Humane Society will be on hand with adoptable friends looking for a forever home and to answer your pet questions, and the Fernandina Pirates Club is back with the Florida Georgia Alliance Blood Mobile to help save lives, and to help entertain the children.
Everyone is invited to check out this friendly farmers’ market, open each and every Saturday, rain or shine, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM on N. 7th Street on Amelia Island. This is a family friendly event, so your children and well behaved pets are welcome, too.
