Life is Not Fair so Play the Hand You are Dealt

When you think things are not fair and you are wondering how you are going to make it, just remember you are not the only one grumbling about the very same thing.

Just Play the Hand You are Dealt

Just Play the Hand You are Dealt

Have you ever noticed that sometimes life is not always fair? Have you ever wondered why things always seem to happen to you and not to anyone else? Have you ever said to yourself, if something is going to go wrong, it will happen to me? I guess from time to time we’ve all made these statements or had such thoughts. I was giving this some thought when I decided that life is not always what we would like for it to be.

If we each had the power to change things or to dial in a certain outcome of a particular situation, then I guess we would all be national lottery winners next Sunday morning, right? We can’t dial in the outcome of things nor do we have the power to influence how things will turn out. We simply have to sort of roll with the flow, take things as they are and deal with it.

A good friend of mine once told me at the funeral of a mutual friend, you just play the hand you’re dealt. This is so true and I think about it almost daily. I know there are many challenges in owning and operating your own business, but we just play the hand we’re dealt, daily. Sometimes things don’t go just the way we would like for them to in our relationships. When we lose a family member or dear friend to death, we think how unfair life can be. I lost my father when I was twenty two years old and wondered how would I make it? Could I continue the family business? What would I do now that I was on my own to make the decisions that Dad always made? You play the hand you’re dealt and you make it.

When you think things are not fair and you are wondering how you are going to make it, just remember you are not the only one grumbling about the very same thing. Everyone has problems, regardless of who you are or how much money you are worth, everyone has problems. Life is truly like a card game, you never know what hand you are going to be dealt, but your only option is to “play it.” Always remember though, some days have better hands then others. Like playing the lottery, you can’t win if you never play, one day the numbers may just line up. This too, is the game of life. One day you will get that hand that will put you on top.

Great advice. From time to time you truly do get a winning hand.
