Local Farmer’s Market Features Local Vendors, Too.

Find the farmers, dough punchers, gourmet chefs and culinary artists at the Amelia Island Market Place farmer's market!

Local Farmer's Market Features Local Vendors, Too.Saturday, October 20, 2012, you will find the friendly, local farmers, dough punchers, gourmet chefs and culinary artists get out of bed really early on Saturday mornings, rain or shine, to bring you their best to the Amelia Island Market Place! You will also find the fresh baked breads, organic vegetables, natural meats and dairy products you would expect to find in a farmer’s market. Sprinkled with a pinch of variety, they also feature a rotating calendar of talented musicians and highlight a non-profit organization each week.

Two of the highlighted exhibitors this Saturday at the Market Place, located in downtown Fernandina Beach, carry a selection of items you may find interesting for entertaining or gift giving as the holiday season is rapidly approaching.

One popular local vendor is T-Ray’s. Their Fernandina Beach restaurant, open for breakfast and lunch, was named as one of the 51 Best Burger Joints in USA TODAY. If you have eaten there, then it will be no surprise that week after week T-Rays sells out of their culinary specialties like perfectly blended rubs and organic salad dressings.

Another local vendor is Amelia Island Soy Candles. The candles are made from soy wax, or in their natural form, the soy bean. Soy candles are superior in many ways to the commercial candles made of paraffin, a petroleum based product. Chandler Dot Williams said, “They burn cleaner, without any black soot, and the wicks are made with cotton so they are lead free.” Soy candles are made with no toxic chemicals and they are delightfully scented with natural oils.

The Amelia Island Market Place is open each Saturday, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, on N. 7th Street in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach, Florida.
