National Pig Day was designed to honor domesticated pigs. While I remember throwing slop to the pigs my grandmother had, you would not dare call them domesticated. No, this day is in celebration of the clever and smart, pet pig. In 1972, two sisters started this day that is celebrated mostly in the Midwest. How do you celebrate National Pig Day? I would guess one would start by avoiding the consumption of pork products.
Share a Smile Day is an easy one to participate in by following one of my favorite quotes, “If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.” Smiles are contagious!
March 1st also includes celebrating peanut butter. Yes, National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day was surely created by Moms as a way to say, “Thank you” for creating the world’s fastest sandwich ingredient.
