May’s Brown Bag Lunch program for the Amelia Island Museum of History will be held Wednesday, may 1st, at noon.
This month, guest speaker Marie Santry will deliver a program entitled “Charles Seton: Fernandina Man of Action 1811 – 1836.”
Marie has done extensive research on the events and notable people in Fernandina during the Chaos Period – 1783 through 1821. In her research, she became intrigued by the life of Charles Seton, who would become Fernandina’s first mayor. His meritorious contributions during the Patriot War, his actions and controversy during McGregor’s Invasion, and his organization and reliability during Fernandina’s early US Territorial Days is the subject of her presentation.
